Northeast SARE provides competitive grants and education in all 12 Northeast states and Washington, D.C.
State SARE Programs
In addition to funding competitive grants throughout the region, Northeast SARE supports state-based programs at each 1862 and 1890 land-grant university across the region.
State SARE programs deliver sustainable agriculture professional development training shaped by local needs. State SARE coordinators also provide information about SARE grant programs, project results, and other sustainable agriculture resources and opportunities.
With programs designed based on local need, state coordinators respond to priorities identified by local agricultural service providers with the goal of developing train-the-trainer programs to prepare agricultural service providers to improve their educational programming for farmers. Some state coordinators work cooperatively, sharing resources and personnel, when they identify common project needs.
